The Palms III

We spent 10 days on St John and ended our stay at this beautiful condo after staying in a villa.  The location is second to none.  We loved being right in Cruz Bay.  The proximity to everything was fantastic but still very peaceful.  We still felt as if we were tucked away and secluded.   The condo is just a shown on the pictures with everything you would ever need.  We sat on the balcony each morning with a beautiful view of Cruz Bay. Laurie was more than helpful from  the first contact we had with her.  We will definitely stay her again on our next visit.

This was our 4th time to the Island and our 4th time staying in a Crandall unit in the Grande Bay condos.
This time we stayed in the 1 bedroom Surfside and it was PERFECT....as always 😉
I honestly do not think we would stay anywhere else on the Island, between the amazing service we get and the location, there is no better option. We absolutely love it!
The unit was immaculate and had all the amenities you need for a fabulous week. All the kitchen supplies, beach chairs, cooler & even reef safe sunscreen.
And a bonus is the owner for the Surfside & Sunswept, Anna May is the sweetest, I just love her 😉
When renting a Crandall unit, you cannot go wrong, the service is top notch, from Desmond meeting us at the ferry, the ability to rent a jeep and have it in the spot for you when you land, to getting provisions that are there when you arrive. For us this was such a treat after an 11.5 hour travel night/day.

This was our 2nd stay at Aahana and won't be our last. Our stay was Sept. 23 thru Oct.3rd in the studio.  The studio is perfect for my husband and I. Everything is so convenient to restaurants and shops. The studio has everything you need.  Mornings on the balcony watching all the boat activity was worth waking up for. It's the most perfect view of Cruz Bay. So relaxing while planning our days at the beaches. We also rented the jeep from Crandall. Thank you Desmond for making that so convenient for picking up and returning.  This was a perfect vacation and can't wait to come back!

We booked here last minute because we needed to change from our previously booked location. Laurie was amazing and got back with me right away about what was available. First let's talk location.... You can't beat it! Walkable to all restaurants, and stores in Cruz Bay! We did rent a jeep, for beach days and driving the island. But we easily could have taxied to beaches and such. Next let's talk views! Fabulous views! Of the pool, and of Cruz Bay. The sunset views were also amazing! Which was my husband's only request was to be able to see the sunset from our balcony. Balcony is huge wrap around with 3 different entrances. The layout is fabulous, our family enjoyed it very much! Access to beach chairs, big towels, and coolers, ice machine, oh and washer and dryer in our villa made for a perfect stay! You have access to someone at anytime should you need any help! We will definitely stay again!!!

Everything about our trip was incredible including this amazing condo.  We have been to St. John many times and I must say this condo is possibly our favorite.  The view from the balcony alone is a reason to stay here.  The condo is spacious, extremely well appointed and we simply did not want to leave.  Can't wait to return!

We booked our stay at Grande Bay nearly 8 months in advance with Crandall’s for February 2020.  We could not have had a better experience!! Everyone with Crandall’s communicated very very promptly and was very organized!  Thank you to Crandall’s and staff for being so thoughtful and responsive and preparing us for a fantastic and relaxing time!!  Providing the welcome packet about the ferry’s, restaurant info, grocery info, etc... got us well prepared for our stay. We opted for the studio unit and it was just perfect for my husband and I.  It truly looked just like the photos and it couldn’t have been better!! We were able to enjoy coffee on the balcony, and light breakfasts of English muffins and yogurt on the balcony. While we didn’t plan/want to do any major cooking the unit was well supplied to do so for the two of us had we wanted to. There was even a grill had we wanted to do some grilling. The unit was fully stocked.  For example to make a complete great beach day the unit contained beach chairs, towels and swimming noodles.  The unit also had a stackable washer and dryer along with detergent-
Making us able to minimize our packing and also able have clean clothes right when we returned home! We had the option to rent a Jeep with our unit, I would recommend doing so. We didn’t do this because we didn’t  know how frequently we would need a vehicle with what we had planned.  We ended up renting a vehicle from a car rental a short distance away, (which worked fine), however, next time I would just recommend if you have the option just rent the Jeep onsite when making your reservation.. We were incredibly incredibly appreciative to have a parking space that was made available for us during our stay.   It was an incredibly nice Service from Crandall’s having Desmond  pick us up from the ferry when we arrived from the airport.  He also helped get us acclimated and we were able to have him as a contact during our stay.  Desmond was wonderful and incredibly helpful!! We enjoyed the amenities of the resort specifically the pool and hot tub! The resort could not have been in a better location to walk to grab a few essentials at the store, get dinner/drinks, and is a short walk to the ferry.  Our balcony/room had the most beautiful view overlooking Cruz Bay!! We could not have had a better time or enjoyed our stay more!! Thank you for making our time so enjoyable!  We can’t wait to come back!! - Amy & Steve (from Michigan)

Very nice studio condo overlooking Cruz Bay with everything you need. Supplied very nicely. Walkable to everything in town. Great bars and restaurants. Plenty of water sport things to choose from. The management company greeted us at the ferry and responded quickly to any questions or needs. Very nice pool overlooking the bay, too.

If you want a clean and quiet spot within walking distance to everything in Cruz Bay as well as accessible to services to get you wherever you want in the island this is the place to stay. Crandall on St John prepared us well prior to our arrival and were helpful picking us up at the ferry and giving us a brief tour.

Mojo Blue 

This condo is in a perfect location overlooking Cruz Bay! The Crandall’s made reservations very easy and were very responsive! Our plane was delayed and we were uncertain about our arrival but they were great and met us at the ferry when we arrived. We will absolutely stay here again and would recommend to anyone looking on for a fabulous place in Cruz Bay on St. John. Condo is on the second floor overlooking Cruz Bay. Walking distance to restaurants and shopping. Well equipped with everything you need! Thank you for a wonderful stay!

This is our second year staying at Grand Bay through the Crandell's and we loved our time in St John. The unit we stayed in has a great view of the bay and well met our expectations. This studio even has a washer and dryer which came in very handy. Looking forward to our return.

We have rented properties from Crandall on two occasions so far. This last time was over a two week period with multiple units and multiple families. One of our units was Sea Kissed penthouse - the best location in town in my opinion! I must say Crandall was so accommodating helping us to locate properties within our budget. Crandall also picked us (and our countless bags) up at the ferry dock, and did an initial provisioning for us. It meant a great deal after a weary day of traveling. For any issues that occurred during our stay, staff was immediately responsive. Most of all, they are just kind and flexible staff with a definite island approach to life. It was so comforting. I highly recommend renting through Crandall. And even if you find a property on VRBO, it's probably managed by Crandall anyway. So go to the source! Oh, and the actual properties in Grande Bay are beautiful as well. Get first rate service, beautiful properties and a relaxing vacation from the second you arrive.

he Crandall folks were excellent in managing our stay with pre-visit information, answers to our questions and any assistance that we required. Wednesday and Ellie did a great job! Mojo Blue Studio at Grande Bay Resort was a well appointed, well-maintained and clean condo property that we leased through VRBO. It did not disappoint us with sunrises, sunsets and relaxing hours on the balcony watching the boats and ferries coming and going in Cruz Bay harbor. Coffee on the balcony in the morning was a delightful way to start our day. Just two blocks from the ferry dock, this central location provided easy access to the stores, restaurants and pubs throughout downtown Cruz Bay. The downtown infrastructure is recovering well and everyone is quite friendly and appreciative of visitors. The full-size, in-unit washer and dryer were particularly useful as they allowed us to pack less clothes for the trip. The well-stocked kitchen with microwave, mini-refrigerator and blender proved sufficient for our continental breakfasts and daiquiris during our stay. Absolutely loved it!!!

We stayed in 403S Studio the first week of October. Upon arrival the staff greeting us were welcoming and very helpful getting us settled in. The property is very well maintained and a great location within walking distance to everything in Cruz Bay. The studio was very clean and the perfect size for one couple with great views of the bay. We stayed in the Penthouse 6-PH1 at Grande Bay. This unit was absolutely gorgeous. The views from the deck were amazing. We enjoyed watching the boats go in and out of Cruz Bay and the sunsets off our porch. We enjoyed cooking on the grill and sitting on the deck with our Rum punch. This was our 3rd time to St. John and it gets better every time. Wednesday is great to work with and they met us at the ferry and took us to our unit. The Crandall's are the best. I wouldn't book a vacation with anyone else but this team. They are the best.

Surf Side 

We have just returned from our stay at Grande Bay and it was our first time to the island. It truly was awesome in every way. The island itself, Grande Bay and Crandall on St John were all great. Crandall was above and beyond as I felt very informed and pampered throughout this experience. Despite the hurricanes they were always there to make sure we had a great experience and we did. Laurie and Craig are exceptional and I look forward to our next visit to the island and will book with them again.

The Palms III 

Our family of three generations, four adults and three children (ages 5, 4, and 3), spent two weeks in early August 2017 in The Palms III condo at Grande Bay. This was our fifth stay at GB and our third time renting from Laurie and Craig Crandall. The condo was clean, spacious and well maintained. The living room and dining area, was large enough for all of us. The wi-fi and TV\'s were a great addition to the condo, and the view from the balcony was breathtaking. We prepared breakfast and picnic lunches in the well-stocked, full-sized kitchen. The three bedrooms, with very comfortable beds, accommodated the whole family. There was plenty of hot water and towels, and the washer and dryer came in handy, especially for children\'s clothing. Laurie, and her staff, made sure we had comfortable beach chairs, plenty of beach towels, and coolers. Grande Bay is right next to Wharfside Village which has numerous restaurants, bars, bistros and shops. It is always an exciting place to be. Also, GB is within easy walking distance from the ferry. We rented a car which we parked in our own space in the GB garage. We drove to the North Shore beaches, some of the best in the Caribbean, on a daily basis. Laurie was very helpful and was always just a phone call or email away from the initial day of contact until the final day of our stay. We will be returning to Grande Bay next year and renting from Laurie. I heartily recommend crandallonstjohn.com to anyone looking for a beautiful place to spend a tropical vacation.

Absolutely our best rental experience! We rented the Aahana studio and 1 bedroom unit together. We had the perfect amount of room and the unit looked just liked the pictures. We absolutely loved the location and the views from our 2 balconies! Communication, payment, jeep rental, and info on our rental, things to do, what to expect, etc. was top notch but the thing that I really appreciated was the condos were stocked with everything we needed: toilet paper, paper towels, trash bags for the week(not just the first night), laundry detergent, dryer sheets, dishwasher detergent(only used for check out clean up but so nice to have) chairs, noodles, beach towels, and coolers. I could go on! A great experience and I will not look anywhere else for a our next summer visit! And thank you Luciah, our greeter, such a pleasure after a long day of traveling!

We were planning a trip to the Islands for a family wedding when a close friend of ours with travel experience from these parts, pointed us to these wonderful properties and we started to look into them. The whole planning experience went smoothly, but the best was yet to come, arriving for our stay mid October, greeted by a wonderful person, and moving into this fantastic suite for our time away from home. We were at Indigo Blue, 2-202 and the first thing we found was the view from the balcony was breathtaking. We found the kitchen to be very well stocked, with everything we needed easy to find. The bedroom was spacious, with the King size bed very comfortable and with bathroom very clean and cozy. While the events around the wedding were very nice and kept us moving, in our free time it was hard to leave our wonderful living space, as just sitting on the balcony watching the harbor was so relaxing. The only time we turned on the TV was to watch our local football team win on Sunday afternoon, but watching news and weather was forgotten about. Our 4 days flew by and now we are thinking about when we can return again to this wonderful setting, to enjoy the great surroundings, fine eating places we found, and the wonderful and kind people we met during our recent stay. Special thanks to Wednesday R, our property manager for taking such great care of us during our short visit, she was always quick to respond to any text msg we sent addressing any of our questions or concerns.

We could not have been more pleased with the sunswept studio at Grande Bay. It was the perfect size for my husband and I, and had everything we needed for our stay. The bed was extremely comfortable, and the view of Cruz Bay couldn't be beat. We were greeted at the dock by the property managers upon arrival, and all the need to know information was provided to us before we came. We'd absolutely recommend it, and hope to stay here again!

We were six friends going on a catamaran adventure in the BVI and decided to check out St John for 3 nights before we started. This waterfront condo was exactly what we needed and exactly what was advertised. Desmond met us at the dock of the ferry after a long day of travel and led us to the condo. The view was fabulous, the neighborhood was a great blend of Caribbean fun, style and local flavor. The kitchen was perfect, the layout was just what we needed and none of the 3 couples felt left out as all of the bedrooms were very nice. The pool was lovely and we enjoyed looking down at it in the evening. The views of the harbor are just what is shown on the VRBO site. Short walks to restaurants, bars, trails and grocery stores made this condo a perfect place to stay.

What a great vacation we had at The Grande! The property was lovely and the unit was fresh, new, and clean! Desmond picked us up from the ferry and showed us around a bit before helping us into our unit. There is a pool and hot tub as well as a roomy porch off of the family room where you can enjoy watching the water, boats, and happenings of Cruz Bay. Parking is easy too, but this property is right in the heart of town so we decided to just walk/use public transportation. The location is perfect for accessing everything St John has to offer. Five stars on all levels!

Pool at Grande Bay was perfect, many times we\\\'d come back from a long day of beaches and snorkeling to watch the kids burn the last bit of energy they had - then grab a bite to eat and go to bed in the AC.

Laurie provided us everything we needed leading up to our trip to make it fantastic. And when we arrived on St. John, Craig from Crandall on St. John met our family at the ferry dock, drove us over to our condo, dropped my family off, drove me to pick up the rental car and had me follow him back to the condo...it was a seamless introduction to the island and phenomenal service. I wouldn't hesitate to use Crandall on St. John. They are fabulous. The same can be said about our condo, Mojo Blue, at Grande Bay. Everything you needed was there and close to everything. The owner of Mojo Blue was great too, even leaving beer and wine for us in the refrigerator; nice touch!

Thanks for an awesome stay on your property! We only stayed for one night until we got into our villa. We decided after our stay that this would be a great place to come back to to stay for a week. It's close to town/walking distance to all the restaurants and shopping. All the amenities we needed were provided in the condo...and a great view!!!! Grand Retreat

This was a seamless and perfect stay. The Crandall Property Management group is the best - we’ve been coming as a family to St John for over 20 years and will only be coming back on Crandall properties moving forward. Beyond accommodating. This condo is the PRIME location. The balcony is next to a bar (like right next to it) that has live music 4-6pm. We LOVED this. It was our own little happy hour on our balcony. Thanks for everything!!

Let me tell you… this is THE place to be in St John! Aquamare is simply, FANTASTIC. It all starts with the tremendous owner Amanda who was able to help save a family trip before school started for my son and daughter, after multiple cancellations to other villas in St John (glad those others overbooked us). Tishelle, at Crandall was fantastic with helping secure a grocery order (even delivered and set up at the suite before arrival), as well as a crib and toys for my almost 2yr old daughter. She also was able to provide a contact to a local driver, Seldon, before we were able to secure a Jeep for a few days, as well as providing a few Date Night spots for my wife and I. Upon arrival we were greeted by Desmond who was able to help take us up to Aquamare… that’s when the fun really began! The beautiful views, the close proximity to all that St John has to offer, and of course the meticulous 2 Bedroom suite that Amanda has put together, are, BREATHE taking! This suite has it ALL, and then some! Without going into too much detail, Amanda was also able to help support some changes for us, which my family and I are forever grateful for! Thank you Amanda for EVERYTHING… and to those thinking about reserving Aquamare, type as fast as you can on that keyboard, and reserve this suite, YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT, and it fills up FAST. I don’t believe in goodbyes, so it’s a see you soon Aquamare! Once again, THANK YOU FOR EVERYTHING!

View from Aahana one bedroom is incredible.  Management company provided excellent service and communication.  Rental process was easy. Aahana is stocked with EVERYTHING you would need for the perfect vacation. Very clean. Restaurants, stores, and ferry boat transportation were all within walking distance. We appreciated the informational book provided in this rental - after reading the beach highlights, on our first day, we selected Maho Bay and snorkeled with the sea turtles and rays.  Amazing experience!  Special thank you to Laurie Crandall, and our greeter Desmond for the excellent customer service.

ust returned from a fabulous week in St. John and stayed at Grande Bay Indigo Blue 1 bedroom unit. The booking was a breeze with the owners and the follow up with Crandall St. John was friendly, welcoming and professional. From corresponding by email our arrival times, etc. and they provided useful information about the condo and things to do in the area. Although we have been many times, it was nice to have a list of current listings of restaurants, etc. Holly met us at the ferry dock promptly and took our bags while we rented our jeep, She then escorted us to our parking spot at Grande Bay and took us up to our unit. Gave us the quick tour and told us if we needed anything to give her a call. Of course, we needed nothing....everything we needed or could want was there and there were no issues. We saw Holly while we were having brunch at High Tide and she came up to say hi and to see how things were going. She is a delight and we hope to use Crandall St. John again. The only thing bad about our trip was that we had to leave! But, we'll be back soon! Thanks for such a smooth trip. It is much appreciated!

We had an absolutely wonderful stay. Our group was 5 adults so the 3 bedrooms were ideal. The balcony is enormous and provides a magnificent view of Cruz Bay. The location cannot be beat as we really enjoyed the short walk along the beach to the restaurants and shops. The unit had everything you could need for a stay. The washer & dryer were a blessing. The parking spot is perfect and literally right next to the ice machine which we used on our daily beach trips with the included soft sided cooler. The unit has a storage cage right at the parking spot with plenty of beach chairs, floats and umbrellas etc.. We even added a couple floats to the collection. If you are staying in Cruz Bay and need 3 bedrooms then I cannot think of a better place to stay and we will definitely return to this unit on our next visit. We absolutely loved our stay. The apartment was spotless (much appreciated during COVID) and the perfect size for our family with plenty of room for everyone. Beautiful Morning 

Our group had never been to the island, but the location was awesome!! We walked to the trails to the beach, to the restaurants and bars, to the ferry, to the shops, etc.

The check in process was easy and we were pleasantly surprised at all of the gear in the condo - cooler, beach towels, footballs, beach chairs, etc. The condo also had a washer and dryer with laundry supplies already there. Very easy to just relax.

Thank you to Darren for an efficient and kind meet and greet. Special thanks to Darren for waiting for us with flight delays & getting us to Varlack before they shut ( close to 8!).
The two units worked out so well for us as two couples. Everything was in working order and efficient. We enjoyed the beach supplies as we saw a different beach daily.
Can’t beat Grande bay for ease of parking, view, units, safety and  ease to walk to restaurants. La Tapa was our favourite and we ate in quite a few times as well.
I have one comment about the kitchen. The mugs are not safe for the microwave. Found out the hard way on the first day when I made tea ( no kettle) and burned a finger on the cup’s handle.
Bruno and I are on taking the 8 ferry and Margaret and John are taking the 10.
Finally thanks to you Helen for answering all my pre trip questions. Much appreciated !!
